Wander in Wonder

When creating, there is often some extent of uncertainty. The excitement is often in not knowing what will be made. I direct the areas to explore, to seek unknowns…

The urge to find where the rule doesn’t apply

Context where the concept falters

The lapse in the law

The gaps in the walls

The edges of certainty

The flexibility of levers

I often pose a question without any branching implication, no follow-up question prepared, no reason for asking other than to explore a shrouded stretch of my awareness

Sometimes this question is asked to a person. Sometimes asked through painting. Sometimes, I ask through travel, through playing music, manipulating sounds, through body postures, facial contortions, food recipes, physical touch…

I’m not “trying” to do anything beyond it, though enticed by where it may lead

I’m simply wandering in wonder

Going, because it is not here
